Hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend! I'm still cursing out those rain gods, they have really over done it this time. Kaayaking in the driveway does get boring...

"Face the Aces" starring my favorite Soprano Steve Schirripa (Bobby Bacala) will start filming on July 9 and will premiere on August 1 on the NBC network.

Joe Pantoliano (Ralph Ciferetto) alert! Mr Pantoliano will be appearing in " Mistakes Were Made" at the Hartford Stage. For more information click here ot visit the theater's website.

 

"Gods of Carnage" the play which features James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) run has been extended, so if you still haven't seen it, make a point of it now!

Congratulations to Drea De Mateo (Adriana LaCuervo) on being cast on the popular television show, "Desperate Housewifes".

Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) will be at the Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival with his Lickety Split Band on July 24 at 7 pm. Tony Lip (Carmine Lupertazzi) and Denise Borino Quinn (Ginny Sack) also have events going on at this festival. On August 2, Jason Cerbone (Jackie Aprile, Jr) and Vincent will be doing a 'meet & greet" at Sullivan's on 600 Washington Street, Hoboken, NJ. There will be a 10 dollar admission, which includes free ziti and pizza. The time to be there is 4 pm. There is also another event in Hoboken on July 27 & 28, which when I find out more you will also. Vinny & The Lickety Split Band will also be playing at Cha Cha's of Coney Island on August 6. On August 30, Vinny will be appearing at Uncle Vinny's Comedy Club in Point Pleasant, NJ. Call the club at 732-899-3900.

The next 5 episodes of "Nurse Jackie" will be directed by Steve Buscemi (Tony Blundetto). "Nurse Jackie" stars Edie Falco (Carmela Soprano).

It finally stopped raining here in North Jersey, its giving everyone a chance to mow the grass before it starts raining again later today.

Julianna Margulies (Julianna Skiff) new television series, "The Good Wife", will premiere on September 22, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Lighten up people! The group that owes their exsistance to The Sopranos, are now launching a protest about a recent Miller Lite commercial that the talented actor Frank Vincent (Phil Leotardo) is featured in. Hey I don't see anyone complaining about how they portray women in this one.

The New York City Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting are offering free podcast walking tours, you may recognize one of the narrators, Julianna Marguilies (Julianna Skiff). To download one of these tours click here.

John 'Cha Cha' Ciarcia (Albie Cianflone) will be making an appearance in New Jersey this week to promote his new wine Grandpa Cha Cha's Home Style Wine, which is a red wine developed from his Grandfather's guarded family recipe. The place to be on June 19 is Little Falls Beverage and Bar, 315 Main Street, Little Falls, NJ, time to be there is 4-7 pm.

Joe Pantoliano (Ralph Cifaretto) will be attending a screening of his documentary "No Kidding, Me Too!" on June 4 at the Scattergood Auditorium in Philadelphia. For more information about this event, click here.

Edie Falco (Carmela Soprano) will be a guest on the ABC network program, "The View" on Tuesday. Ms Falco is presently working on the show, "Nurse Jackie" on the Showtime Network. On Wednesday, she will be on the PBS program, "Tavis Smiley."

Vincent Pastore has been named as Ambassador of the Annual Festa Italiana festival, held on Staten Island, NY. The festival kicks off on June 6. He will be joining his former co host from The Wise Guy SHow, Jow Causi and he will be the judge of the annual meatball eating contest. Tony Lip (Carmine Lupertazzi) will be on hand to sign his book, "Shut Up and Eat." The yearly event will be held at the Staten Island Zoo.

The new Fox Network program, "Mental" features Annabella Sciorra (Gloria Trilla). It will air on Friday nights.

The movie "Cop Land" has been airing on the STARZ network, expect to see many of our favorite Sopranos in this one (Frank Vincent - Phil Leotardo, John Ventimiglia - Artie Bucco, Annabella Sciorra - Gloria Trillo).

If you still haven't managed to score a coveted seat in Rao's, they recently launched a new website with recipes from this legendary establishment (which by the way is owned by Frank Pellegrino aka Agent Frank Cubitosi).

Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) and Dan Grimaldi (Patsy Parisi) will join Joe Frazier and a group of celebrities for a weekend of fun at Joe Frazier's SportzBox event “Champs and Stars Show”, being held on the weekend of June 12, at Bally's Casino, Atlantic City. Congratulations to James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) on his nomination for the prestigous Tony Award, for his work in the play, "God of Carnage."

Vincent Pastore will be part of the traveling "Catch A Rising Star" comedy club on the road, check out the scoop on his May 28 appearance in Allamuchy Township in New Jersey. Guy spends enough time here in Jersey he really should consider moving here.

August 1, is important date to mark on your calendar. That is the day that Steven R. Schirripa's new television series, "Face the Ace" a reality poker show will premiere on the NBC network. The premise is that amatuer poker players will play against world champion players for the ultiimate prize of 1 million buckeroos. For more about the series, click here. Steve played the character of Bobby Bacala.

There will be a reading on the Louis La Russo play "Marlon Brand Sat Right Here" by the New Artists Theater Company at the Hoboken Historical Society. The large cast will feature Maureen Van Zandt (Gabby Dante), Janet Sarno, Anthony Ribustello (Dante Grecco), Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy), Gerard Canonico, Alex Corrado, George Palermo and Ernest Mingione. Reading will be directed by Frank Licato. Tentative dates are June 5 & 6 th.

The topic they'll be discussing is the relevance of art, creativity & Tibetan Buddhism in contemporary times. Every wonder which dried pasta is the tastiest? New York Magazine, assembled a panal of judges, which included my favorite Soprano Steve Schirripa (Bobby Bacala) and you'd be surprised, which one ruled above the others.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, the weather in Jersey was a tease of what we can look forward to. I say look forward to, since today, its cold and rainy outside.

I have a couple of events for April 24 and 25. John 'Cha Cha' Ciarcia (Albie Ciaflione), will be signing bottles of his wine at Toscana Restaurant, 1099 Broad Street located in Bloomfield, NJ on Friday April 24 between 5 & 8 pm. The following day Saturday April 25, he will be at Buy Rite Liquors, 4110 Route 9 South, Howell, NJ between 4 & 7 pm. Grandpa Cha Cha's Homestyle Wine recipe is the same recipe his Grandfather used to make this special wine for a few select friends, at his shop on Mulberry Street, in New York's Little Italy.

Edie Falco's (Carmela Soprano) new television series "Nurse Jackie" will premiere on the Showtime network on June 8 at 10:30 pm. Paul Schultze (Father Phil) is also featured in this new television series.

Jerzee grrrl Patti Smith interviews Michael Imperioli (Christopher Moltisanti) as part of her MYSPACE show.

Speaking of Michael, his band La Dolce Vita, featuring (besides Michael) Elijah Amitin and Olmo Tighe will be appearing this Friday night (April 24) at the Mercury Lounge, 217 East Houston Street, NYC. I just had my hair styled by a Soprano (some things are so cool), stop by and see Tony Ray Rossi (Fred Peters) at his hair salon if you happen to be in mid town Manhattan. His wife Marie has been nominated several times for an Emmy, for her hair styling work in television production.

John “Cha Cha” Ciarcia (Albie Cianflone), will make a special Madison, New Jersey in-store appearance on Friday, April 3rd from 5-7pm where he’ll be giving out samples and signing bottles of his Grandpa Cha Cha's Home Style Wine at Main Street Cellar – 300 Main Street in Madison, N.J. Sopranos creator, David Chase is returning to HBO, not for more episodes of The Sopranos, but to create a television ministeries about Hollywood history according to the Associated Press. The title of this production will be "A Ribbon of Dreams" no information on when production will start or if it already has.

The Arthur Miller play, "A View from the Bridge" will have a limited performance at the Trinity Church, 555 Palisades Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ. The dates of the performances are March 25, 25, 27, 28, 29 and April 1,2,3,4, and 5. Performances on Wednesday through Friday are at 8 pm and Sunday's is at 3 pm. As mentioned before, James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) is starring in a Broadway play, The New Yorker, about tickets for "Gods of Carnage".

Dominic Chianese (Uncle Junior) has been added to the cast of "The Price" which will be performed at The Globe Theater located in San Diego, CA. “The Price” runs on the Globe's Arena Stage at the San Diego Museum of Art's Copley Auditorium from May 9 to June 14. The movie, "Split Ends" which features Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy), will be screening at the Garden State Film Festival in Asbury Park between April 2-5, 2009. This movie was filmed in the North Jersey area last summer.

A date to mark on your calendar, March 17. Vincent Curatola (Johnny Sack) will play the character of Marv Solloway, Carol Burnett's spouse on a episode of "Law & Order SVU"

Did anyone catch Tom Aldredge in the recently aired HBO movie, "Taking Chance"? Tom played Hugh DeAngelis, Carmela Soprano's father on our favorite show. Tom has a birthday coming up on February 28, so if you see him wish him a Happy. If you didn't blink, you may have seen me also, I was in the funeral scene (I was the one standing next to Baked Ziti).

Here is an event for tomorrow, if you need your Sopranos fix. One of my favorite Sopranos and all around great guy, Steve Schirripa (Bobby Bacala) will be making an appearance at The Cabinet Factory to celebrate the opening of their 7 th east coast store on February 7, at 705 Forest Ave., West Brighton, Staten Island from 4 to 6 p.m. I've been to the cabinet factory and they really have some fantastic stuff, and all of their stores will be offering extra discounts on purchases that day in celebration of the grand opening of their newest location.

And speaking of Steve, according to Digital Spy, Steve has signed on for a guest appearance on the television show, "Ugly Betty".

Here's a fun event for next Thursday night. Come join award-winning writer James P. Blaylock at the Launch Party/signing for his new novel, "Knights of the Cornerstone". Thursday evening, February 12, 7 till 9 p.m. at Cha Cha's In Boca Al Lupo restaurant in Little Italy at 113 Mulberry Street, near the corner of Mulberry and Canal, New York City. When Eddie meets mop-top teenager Arnold on the internet, his hopes for quiet consolation are shattered when Arnold wants more than a rendezvous and Eddie's family becomes Arnold's obsession.

Performances begin on February 12 with a limited engagement to March 1. The trailer for 'Oy Vey My Son Is Gay' is up on line and it is really funny, the movie features Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy). Tonight, Vincent will be at 6:30 pm, at a event being held at the Museum of the City of New York, 1220 Fifth Avenue, NYC, to benefit the Huntington's Disease Society of America . The event, "Celebrate the City" (Scroll down), will feature a cocktail reception, food and entertainment. Tickets are available for purchase here

Little Steven's (Silvio Dante) Underground Garage Radio show will officially air in Britian on February 9 th, the anniversary of the Beatles appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. Little Steven will be speaking on March 20 as part of the SXSW conference in Austin, Texas.

John Ventimiglia (Artie Bucco) will be part of the cast of the west coast production of the play, "Stitching" according to Playbill. Previews begin on February 26 with its official opening on March 6. The play will be performed at The Lillian Theater is located at 1076 Lillian Way in Hollywood, CA. The month of January has really been sliding by, with all the cold weather we've had and the ice, time is just slipping away...

Here's an event for next Monday night, January 26 th. Robert Funaro (Eugene Pontecorvo) and Anthony J. Ribustello (Dante Greco) will be participating in a Texas Hold'em tournament to benefit the Working Man's Clothes theater group. There are different levels that you can buy into the game, and depending on level, will depend on what perks come with the entrance fee. They also have some great prizes like flat screen televisions (and not the type that have fallen of a truck and ran over), Bruce Springsteen Tickets and tickets for the Working Man Production of “Fresh Kills” featuring Robert Funaro. All your buy-ins will be considered donations to the Fractured Atlas 501(c)3 umbrella organization.
