One of Tony Soprano's biggest source of aggravation is the fact that Johnny Sacramoni and his lovely wife Ginny have decided to relocate to New Jersey. Johnny Sack has verbally promised not to "put his beak" into The Soprano Family business, but as we say in New Jersey, "talk is cheap". Since Johnny's arrival, Tony has had contact with the New York family a little more than I think he wants. Across the river whether you cross by bridge or tunnel, is the headquarters of the New York Mob. Carmine's club is located in the Little Italy section of New York City and where else...Mulberry Street! Carmine Lupertazzi has been seen since season 3 but he has always been in the background. Carmine is the long reigning leader of the New York Family and delegates his orders through Johnny Sack. Carmine and Johnny don't always see eye to eye but it is a working relationship. Carmine is married and has a son who resides in sunny Florida. Carmine Lupertazzi is brilliantly played by Tony Lip. Carmine's underling is John Sacramoni whose recent relocation to New Jersey has been a irritant to Tony Soprano. Commonly referred to as Johnny Sack, John has been flip flopping between Tony and his devotion to Carmine. Johnny Sack in season 4 desperately wanted to kill Ralph Cifaretto (Joe Pantoliano) for insulting his wife's physical characteristics (I think he called her "Shamu"). Carmine's reluctance to allow this, caused John to run to Tony with his grievances. Tony didn't make Johnny too happy cause John ran back to Carmine complaining how Tony and his crew were enjoying the fruits of the Esplanade project more than they should. Carmine in reaction to this, made a few calls to the organized labor unions and trouble began.
Not sure which direction his character is going but it certainly keeps things interesting. Johnny Sack could end up with his photo in the Post Office or on the side of a milk carton with the caption "Have you seen?", we'll just have to wait and see. Johnny Sack is played by New Jersey's own Vincent Curatola. Besides an actor, Mr. Curatola has made several appearances singing with the mega group Chicago and has also sang at Madison Square Garden in New York City. A brief bio about Mr. Curatola is on this site.
