It's still December 5 (I started early this morning covering stuff) and I am having an absolutely fabulous day. I started out in Little Italy for the invieling of the World's Largest Cannoli tree, attended a launch party and them traveled north to mid town to the Hawaiian Tropic Zone, one of the hottest party venues in New York City. The best part of this is everywhere I went I found legal parking on the street, so I didn't have to take out a mortgage to finance a parking spot (it really doesn't take much to make me happy).
The Garage Girls A Go Go are a dance troupe choreographed by the talented Maureen Van Zandt. Maureen has extensive training in dance, having danced professionally with the American Ballet Theatre, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, and the Garden State Ballet. The Garage Girls A Go Go have been performing since 2004, and I have watched them grow into a very cohesive group of dancers, who truly enjoy the show's they perform at. Pictured left to right: Suzy Darling, Tara Fitzgerald, Whitney Bryant, Meghan Kleinschmidt, and Courtney Flower. Tonight's show at the Hawaiian Tropic Zone, located at 49 th STreet and 7 th Avenue, was part of the Little Steven's Underground Garage series. The title of the show is Hellfire Hillbilly and Rock and Roll Rave Up! It featured 2 great bands, The Len Price 3 from Kent, England and The WildBirds. Here's some photos from tonight's performances.
