Wednesday December 5, 2007 was a very busy day for me and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey appreciated all the monies I deposited in the piggy banks located tight outside the Holland Tunnel. I started off my day in New York's Little Italy for the unveiling of the World's Largest Cannoli tree (yes cannoli's grow on trees) which will be part of the new television show on Lifeskool TV entitled “Steve Schirripa's Hungry" which will premiere on December 6. The show is available on Cablevision cable and on internet (I will have the link shortly).
This Italian cooking series, Steve will take viewers on a tour of his favorite restaurants, chefs, pastry shops, cheese stores and butcher shops throughout New York City , with in-depth explorations of its most popular Italian neighborhoods, from Bensonhurst, Carroll Gardens and Bay Ridge in Brooklyn to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx to Little Italy in Manhattan . He'll share his expertise on where to find the best Italian delicacies, how to prepare authentic Italian dishes and, most importantly, how to enjoy them like a true Italian! This tree is a 10-foot tall, 3,000-cannoli strong tree! It really did seem taller.
Here are some of the photos from the unveiling. Later on that evening there was a spectacular launch party for this new series.
